Entreq Peak 4

The standard connections on the back of any of the Entreq Ground Boxes are simply wooden posts that hold the cable tightly in place, they offer no sonic purpose, wood is chosen by default as it adds nothing and takes nothing away. The Everest and K2 posts were launched a few years ago as an upgrade to the range of ground boxes, you simply replace the standard wooden post with either an Everest or K2 and away you go!

In the Autumn of 2021 Entreq have made several changes to their ranges of grounding products and the introduction of the Peak 4 is one of them!

Just like the existing K2 and Everest posts by adding a Peak 4 to your ground box you simply allow it to become much more efficient at removing pollutants and noise present in the signal path. It doesn’t just change ‘the post’ but the whole character of the box itself.

The Peak 4 is manufactured from a combination of 5 different minerals, including Tungsten, as featured in the newer Olympus Ground Boxes.

Tonally the K2 is a warm and tonally darker and the Everest is more open and transparent in comparison. The new Peak 4 almost takes the best bits from both the K2 and Everest and combines them in one post. The Peak 4 is natural without being laid back and insightful without being strident or fatiguing in any way.

Which post is right for you and your system really depends on the make-up of your system and how you find it tonally and how you want to improve the sound.

If you want to make your system more transparent and have a greater sense of scale the Everest is the post to go for, even on a modest system it doesn’t take long to hear what an Everest is capable of! If you consider your system is already transparent and you would prefer to make the presentation warmer, richer and more rounded the K2 is better choice. In a system which is already well balanced the Peak 4 is the obvious choice, it can fit to any box or post. Just adding 1 post to a box like a Silver Tellus changes the character of the ground box.

There is no snake oil or black magic at work here, just good old Scandinavian engineering, passion and a love of music.

All you need is a half decent system with a ground box, a pair of ears, some good music and the benefits of the Everest  are pretty obvious to hear!

Noise is the enemy and Entreq can remove it, most people who have never heard Entreq don’t believe it until they have heard it.
