Fyne Audio F501 SP Loudspeakers

The F501 SP is a UK built loudspeaker that builds upon the excellent performance of the original model, benefitting from a number of technologies that were originally developed for the premium F700 series.

The F501 SP version uses the 6 inch (150mm) Isoflare drive unit with the 25mm tweeter mounted at its centre. There is an additional mid/bass driver underneath the Isoflare driver, this is also a 6 inch unit.

The crossover is uprated over the original model as is the plinth, as with the F502 SP this model uses the double aluminium plinth – this helps to improve the performance of the BassTrax diffuser as well, which aids room placement, the aluminium surrounds on the drive units is diamond cut and gives the speakers a sharp finish.

Available in gloss black and gloss white, with high gloss walnut available as a cost option.

The F501 SP is a sizeable jump price over the standard F501, but the performance also takes a substantial leap forward. They offer brilliant dynamics and scale, the single point Isoflare drive unit makes them relatively straightforward to get set up in a room and once you get them right they image brilliantly.

As with any speaker at this sort of price point the F501 SP needs some good amplification to hear them at their best, the Gold Note IS-1000 or a pair of PA-10  work brilliantly as does the T+A PA1100E
