Soulnote at Audio Therapy

I first experienced Soulnote at Munich High End in 2022, their room was superb and for me it was easily one of the highlights of the whole show, it was something I always intended to explore further, but due to one reason and another it has taken far longer than it should but we got there in the end and Soulnote is now a permanent resident here at Audio Therapy and I’m absolutely thrilled to have them onboard.

For those not familiar Soulnote are Japanese brand, founded in 2004 by several former Marantz employees, they are located in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa, Japan.

Soulnote produce 3 ranges of products which offer superb performance and incredible value for money at their price points. Build quality and finish is excellent and the design of each range is very strong. We will have key items from each range on permanent demonstration.

Sonically, at every price point Soulnote really ticks all of the boxes, their chief designer Hideki Kato is hugely passionate about music and his design ethos is quite unique and distinctive – this passion and love is quite obvious when you sit in front of a Soulnote system, it is a very apt name as the music is full of soul, intimacy and tonal beauty, timing and coherency are first rate, right from the very top drawer.

They respond positively to changes around them and they will certainly allow a serious system to be built around them, even with the entry level products, the A-1 integrated amplifier is ridiculously impressive for the price of the admission (£3300) and partnered with the D-1N DAC (£5400) it makes for a superb combination for the money, the first few customers who have heard this pairing in the demonstration room have all been left wanting more and several home demonstrations are already in the diary for the coming weeks.

This theme of strong value for money continues as you venture into Series 2 and Series 3, with larger integrated amplifiers and DAC’s, plus an SACD player, network transport, clock generator and a pre-amp/power amplifiers. my Series 2 demonstration stock is on its way and Series 3 will follow in due course.
