We have for sale a Clearaudio Double Smart Matrix Record Cleaning Machine

Pre-owned, this dates to around 2007

Supplied in original packaging.

Overall good condition, a few marks and signs of wear but nothing serious.

Appears to be in good working order, I have used this to clean 3 records and it seems to do a really good job.

Included in instructions and around a litre of their pure groove cleaning fluid, there is 1/2 litre in a new unopened bottle and a quantity across 2 opened bottles. There is a adapter for using singles (I’ve not tried this), plus a pack of 2 of the velvet strips that attach the vacuum arm.

It is fairly straightforward to use, there is a switch to rotate the record clockwise and anticlockwise it is recommended to spin a record 3 to 5 times each way.

This machine has 2 motors, one to spin the record and one to vacuum the liquid away.

It cleans both sides of the record at once, the clamp hold the record in place and keeps the label dry.

The brush arm pivots out of the way as does the top liquid applicator/vacuum arm so you can place the record onto the spindle.

You then move both arms back into position, tighten the applicator/vacuum arm (if you over-tighten it will potentially stop the record from spinning when you apply the vacuum) and you are good to go.

You connect the bottle to the tube, turn the machine on, lift the bottle and gently squeeze it and the liquid is forced through the tube and onto the record, once you have cleaned the record, you put the bottle down and turn on the vacuum, after a few revolutions the record is dry and ready to go back in its sleeve.

I can’t remember the exact selling price of this model when, but from memory it was around £1700-£2000, it was quite unique in that it cleans both sides at once.
