Alluxity Integrated One Mk2 on demonstration

The Alluxity Int One mk2 integrated amplifier is now on demonstration – I decided to go bold with the finish and ordered my demonstration unit in titanium orange, it looks absolutely superb, a real head turner and a stunning colour.

For those who don’t know Alluxity is a Danish brand and is the brainchild of Alexander Vitus Mogensen, the son of the Hans Ole Vitus – the owner/founder of Vitus Audio.

Alexander clearly comes from good audiophile stock and he has learned everything he knows from the very best in the industry and at a very young age, he has spent years working for learning about circuit design, software and computer aided design and integrating it all together in their class leading facility in Herning, Denmark.

As of Spring 2022 Hans Ole Vitus has stepped aside as the CEO of Vitus Audio to take a back seat heading up R&D for new products, Alexander has stepped up and he is now the CEO of both Vitus Audio and Alluxity.

The Alluxity Int One mk2 is priced at £8950 and it is a beautiful amplifier, the build quality and fit and finish is superb, the case work is milled out of a solid block of aluminium and there is an intricate labyrinth milled into the interior into which the workings of the amplifier are installed.

It delivers 200 watts into 8 ohms, doubling up as impedance halves (400 watts into 4 ohms and 800 watts into 2 ohms) and it offers all the power, grip and control most people will ever need and it will drive just about any loudspeaker you can think of without breaking a sweat.

It is a straight forward integrated amplifier, no on board DAC, streamer or phono stage, there are 3 pairs of RCA inputs and 2 pairs of XLR inputs. There are a single pair of loudspeaker outputs and a pair of RCA pre-outs (there is a stereo power amp and mono power amp in the range as well)

The Int One mkII is a Class AB amplifier and the first few watts are pure Class A and sonically you can really hear that as it has an incredibly melodic, seductive and alluring character. It produces superb bass, which is extended, tight and the overall presentation has wonderful focus and insight. In many ways it reminds me of a tube amplifier but one combined with all of the power, drive and control of a big solid state amplifier.

Don’t presume that the Int One mkII sounds bloated or sleepy in its presentation with the tube reference, there is absolutely no shortage of resolution and transparency in any way and the presentation is incredibly infectious with great tone, textures and the midrange is superb as well.

I’ve been running the Alluxity so far with a Melco N10/2 S38 and a Metronome Le DAC 2 with a pair of Fyne F1-8 loudspeakers and I’ll be putting it through its pace with Avalon, Boenicke, Vimberg loudspeakers as well over the coming weeks and a more detailed blog post will follow.

My new demo room is up and running so if you would like to have a listen please don’t hesitate to get in touch, as always part exchange is welcome.
