N100 2TB Digital Music Library
The N100 is Melco’s entry level music library, it comes with a 2TB HDD, big enough to comfortably hold 3000 CD rips
When connected to a USB DAC it will also stream Tidal, Qobuz and also can act as a Roon Endpoint.
It uses either Twonky or Minimserver as the UPnP Server – which will also the music stored on the N100 to be accessible via other devices around your home that are on your network (that support UPnP).
Qobuz downloader function allows for direct download of Hi-Res purchases from the Qobuz website.
For those with a Naim or Linn streamer (or any streamer that doesn’t support USB) you can connect via the Player port which is a second ethernet socket on the N100 specific for this application.
Whilst the N100 may be Melco’s ‘entry level’ model it performs to a very high standard and is more capable than many realise, it’s performance can be further enhanced with the addition of a Plixir 12v power supply.
D100 Optical Drive
Using a D100 to ‘rip’ your CD collection onto the HDD of the N100 allows for optimum data transfer in archive quality. The D100’s Melco-branded circuit board is further audiophile-optimised to deliver the highest performance ripping from CD.
The D100 can even be used as a high-precision CD transport when your Melco player (N100) is connected to a USB DAC.
