Due in over the next week or so we will have the Tellurium Q’s brand new entry level power cable, the Ultra Blue II. Visually it looks identical to the previous version other than the ‘II’ in the name on the cable.
In terms of performance it’s quite a bit different, the old Blue was popular and did a good job in the right system, but it could sound a bit smooth and rounded. Careful matching was required to get it right. The new version is much more balanced. It still sounds like it is from the Blue family but dynamics have increased.
A great upgrade for those wanting to improve their system but don’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on power cables, don’t underestimate or dismiss the benefit of good power cables in a system. It quite often gets dismissed, but in my experience once they hear a good cable in a half decent system the owner of the system will be reluctant to remove it.
