Entreq Olympus Interconnect Cable

The Olympus Interconnect is the result of years of research, listening, testing and over the years this has been refined and fine tuned to perfection – Olympus is Entreq’s finest hour!

Let’s not beat around the bush, the Olympus is expensive and as a result it will only be for the lucky few and for those with big, serious systems. But when you hear what is possible with an interconnect such as the Olympus it genuinely redefines your reference point.

As with all Entreq interconnect cables the Olympus contains no shielding – this entails that the drain wire is not connected to the connected device’s negative pole. Instead, it is connected to the external Ground Box. This way, we drain off the interference/noise that the shielding would normally absorb to the ground outside of the signal paths, instead of the usual mixing it together with the signal wire at the connection to the device itself.

This has the huge benefit of lowering the noise floor which allows you to hear more of what is going on, it improves timing, coherency, articulation. Entreq interconnects always go down well when people demonstrate them in their systems, they initially raise an eyebrow, but they always impress when you spend time with them.

They use wooden plugs as opposed to metal ones so they are non-magnetic, the sheath is cotton and not synthetic or plastic, only pure copper and silver are in the signal path, no alloys are used.

Out of the 5 Entreq interconnect cables the Olympus is the only cable which does not come included with a Ground Cable or Ground Box, enabling you to choose the most appropriate options based on your system and budget. The Olympus comes with a short drain wire with a 3.5mm socket on the end, so you simply connect a 3.5mm ground cable to this, the other end connecting to a ground box.

An Olympus Infinity Ground Cable (£1550) and an Olympus Ten Tungsten Ground Box (£1400) are the obvious choices.

Home demonstrations possible and part exchange is welcome, the Olympus Infinity is one of those cable which once you have heard it is impossible to go back!

The Olympus interconnects are available in both RCA and XLR termination and are 1.1m long by default.
