Melco N100 Digital Music Library
The N100 is Melco’s entry level model, it comes with a 2TB HDD enough storage to comfortably hold over 3000 CD rips. When connected to a USB DAC it will also stream Tidal and Qobuz, it will also serve as a Roon Endpoint.
You can confidently use the N100 in a serious system and it would not be outclassed and it would be equally at home on a desktop connected to a USB headphone amplifier.
The N100 sits on your network as a storage device for your digital music collections and can serve it to either a USB-DAC via a dedicated USB output or it can serve music to a Network Audio Player via the second Ethernet Port (the Player Port)
It is easy to control via a number of control apps, J-Play is fast becoming the go to app for most users. As with all Melco’s the N100 has both Twonky and Minimserver 2 UPnP Servers onboard. It also has Songkong which is a brilliant program for editing the metadata of your library, correcting mistakes or inconsistencies to make searching for music easier.

If you purchase any music from either Qobuz providing you are signed into your account on the Melco all purchases will automatically downloaded to the Melco when you complete checkout – it’s a great feature.
You can back up your music library without any fuss, connect a USB hard drive to one of the USB sockets and select start back up in the menu.
If you already own an N100 adding a Plixir Elite BDC Power Supply is a really worthwhile upgrade, the N100 sounds great by default but this improved PSU delivers a really nice uplift in performance.
We have the Melco N100 on permanent demonstration and home loan is no problem either, part exchange is welcome.
