Shunyata Research Theta Interconnect Cable
The Theta range replaces the popular Delta series of cables and it has been in development for some time, Shunyata left no stone unturned to ensure Theta would comfortably outperform Delta.
They are available with either XLR or RCA termination and come by default as a 1.0m pair, longer lengths are no issue
Analogue interconnects are by default 1 metre long and are available in RCA and XLR termination. Longer lengths are no problem, the RCA version is £80 for every 25cm, the XLR version is £85.
In a word the big thing that Theta brings to the table is coherence, they have a very well balanced presentation and they tow the line of neutrality really well. They have great bass, superb dynamics and in typical Shunyata fashion they put focus on low noise and a great knock benefit of that is textures and subtle nuances in the music really take centre stage. They offer a level of purity that is not usually found at this sort of price point!
Ohno wire, also called PCOCC was invented in 1986 by professor Atsumi Ohno of the Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan. Copper wire is created by an extrusion process that pulls a rod of cold copper through a small orifice which creates multiple crystalline boundaries. By contrast, Ohno wire is made by a process using heated molds that cast a wire to form a single crystalline structure. Ohno wire is well known for its exceptionally pure, grain-free sonic qualities.
KPIP v2™ PROCESSING
Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at a molecular level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
