Series 2 is Soulnote’s second range of products, their middle ground and the range which is proving to be the most popular in terms of overall sales and based on initial enquiries which I’ve received. Series 2 is made up of 3 products just like Series 1, there is an integrated amplifier, a DAC and a phonostage.

All of the components from Series 2 are beautifully built, the fit and finish is exemplary and superior than many brands offerings at greater price points. The milled aluminium front panel extends around the entire casework on the Series 2 models.

The chassis itself is larger than the Series 1 models and there is even greater attention placed on the finer details to ensure maximum performance is obtained, details such as the top cover is not secured down but instead ‘floats’, it connects to the chassis and sides in only 3 places.

Performance takes a big jump over Series 1, whilst that is strong at its price point Series 2 simply gives you more everything. The presentation is open and fast yet seductive and alluring. Tonally it is very sweet, but when music has drive, attack and immediacy it is all there. It is expressive, expansive and a real delight to listen to.
