Due in very soon on permanent demonstration is the fabulous Brigadier Mu2 stand-mount speaker from Serhan & Swift, coming all the way from Australia. Priced at £5000 a pair this is a staggeringly good little speaker which excels on delivering a real emotional connection to the music. I spent some time with a pair of these a few weeks ago and they were simply incredible, I spent most of my time with them with the hairs on the back of neck on end!
Featuring the highly regarded ScanSpeak Revelator Bass/Mid driver and ScanSpeak Ring Radiator tweeter no expense has been spared with the Mu2, cabinet construction is incredible using 25mm birch ply instead of the ubiquitous mdf with these compact speakers weighing in at a healthy 10kg each.
I’m really looking forward to getting my demo pair in due course, coming with a pair of brilliant Solid Steel SS-6 stands. I’ll be writing in a lot more on detail on these bad bays shortly. Needless to say if you are thinking of investing in a stand-mount speaker at this sort of level you’ll be missing out if you don’t audition the Mu2!
