It has been a while in coming but the Vitus RI-101 mk2 Integrated Amplifier with the DAC / Streamer Module is now Roon Ready
This means that the RI-101 Mk.II has been rigorously tested and optimised to seamlessly integrate with the Roon platform. Roon is a superb interface and in terms of streaming music via Tidal or Qobuz and playing locally stored files together all in one place it is tough to beat.
The RI-101 Mk.II is already celebrated for its exceptional build quality and performance, and this certification further cements its position as a top-tier integrated amplifier. Being Roon Ready means that the RI-101 mk2 will act as a Roon Endpoint, a separate Roon Core is still required.
This update currently only applies to new units leaving the factory in Denmark.
Amy existing RI-101 mk2 owners can have their DAC module upgraded to this new Roon Ready version. The final details of the upgrade including pricing are yet to be finalised, in the first instance all that is required is the serial unit of your amplifier.
Older RI-101 mk2 will need to go to Denmark for the update (both hardware and software will require updating) whereas more recent ones may be able to have the upgrade carried out in the UK (software only). It all hinges on the hardware in the DAC module.
Anyone with an RI-101 mk2 without a DAC module fitted can obviously send their unit back to Denmark for this upgrade.
The RI-101 mk2 is priced at £17,000 in standard amplifier form and the Roon Ready DAC module is £4500, as ever part exchange is no problem at all and demonstrations are welcome. One of the finest integrated amplifiers money can just become a lot more flexible!
