It’s been a little while coming but good things come to those who wait and all that!
We now have a Vitus SIA-025 mk2 Integrated Amplifier on demonstration in the new ‘warm silver’ finish, it is a beautiful colour, incredibly clean and sharp, the new finish really seems to emphasis the lines and angles on the casework.
Other than that it is business as usual with the SIA-025 mk2, it is a stunning integrated amplifier and never fails to impress. Comparisons with the RI-101 mk2 are frequently drawn, the RI is another incredible amplifier but one which is quite different to the SIA when you put them side by side.
The RI-101 is organic, full of purity and it has a real sense of speed and precision about its presentation, you never run out of stream with 300 watts on tap and I’d put it against anything on any loudpeakers, in contrast the SIA-025 has a more creamy and seductive presentation, don’t think that description means it sounds lush and laid back, it possesses all of the detail, transparency and dynamics anyone would ever want, but it delivers it with beautiful refinement and is so engaging, compared to the RI-101 mk2 the SIA paints a bigger soundstage which is palpable, the sense of 3D and holographics on an SIA-025 is certainly one of its strongest and alluring traits, it is 25 watts of Class A magic.
