X marks the spot for Shunyata Research!

Shunyata Research continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in power cable design with the release of the brand new Alpha X and Sigma X ranges.

Over the past few years the Alpha V2 and Sigma V2 power cables have been very popular and for good reason, both cables perform to an incredibly high standard, they never fail to impress when customers borrow them.

That said nothing stands still and Shunyata have spent considerable time fine tuning and improving the performance of these cables, I must stress that this isn’t a small shift or minor improvement, they bring a dramatic improvement in system performance. Sonically Shunyata has no real character of their own, they do not alter or shape the presentation and that concept has evolved further with these new cables.

There are 5 new power cables available, there is the Alpha-X XC and Sigma-X XC, as always the XC cables are designed to be used to connect a Shunyata power conditioner to the wall outlet.

There is also the  Alpha-X NR and a Sigma-X NR, both feature Shunyata’s legendary noise reduction technology, NR power cables are designed to be used on components. The fifth power cable is a Sigma-X QR, this is the highest performing Sigma cable, it takes a Sigma X-NR but integrates the QR/BB technology from the Omega QR into it, this the first QR cable to be launched outside of the Omega range.

The QR/BB™ module possesses the ability to act as an electric charge reservoir, meaning it stores and releases energy in a manner that improves a component’s access to instantaneous current. Dynamics are improved, reducing any sense of dynamic strain often heard from amplifiers that are connected with lesser power cables. The sonic result is a lifelike presentation of timing and dynamic contrasts in sound that cannot be replicated by ANY other means.

The SIGMA-X QR creates an island of pure silence when used with reference quality amplifiers and source components. The QR/BB technology essentially supercharges the component’s power supply with reserve levels of DTCD energy. For the first time, this QR/BB technology is available at a much lower price in order to reach a far wider audience.

The ALPHA-X and SIGMA-X power cables feature three groundbreaking technologies:

TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer):

Patent pending TAPc technology is now available on Shunyata Research power cables. It dramatically enhances sound quality with an uncanny ability to improve resolution without stridency or high-frequency emphasis.

3rd Generation Noise Reduction (NR) Circuit:

Building on the proven success of our third-party validated noise reduction tech, the new Gen3 NR circuit delivers unparalleled performance with profound enhancements to transient speed, transparency, and tonal purity (this is not used in the XC cables)

KPIPv2 (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process):

This update to our groundbreaking KPIP process not only permanently preconditions every cable, conductor, and connector but also significantly reduces the break-in time. The result? A breathtaking audio experience with deeper immersion, vivid detail, and lifelike presence.
